Lane Titans Women’s Soccer is proud to present its recruiting class for 2013. The Titans have secured signatures of 10 incoming freshmen to strengthen their squad for the fall season. Coach Ellis said, “We feel really strong about this class. It is the best class in my time at Lane both in terms of quality and depth. We’ve gone out to specifically recruit attacking players with the core of our strong defense returning.”

The signed freshmen are:

Breanna Berger - Forward, Hermiston HS, 3-Rivers SC. Honors: First Team All League Columbia River Conference. Coach Ellis is impressed with “her good technical skills with both feet and a genuine desire to compete and win.” Breanna “picked Lane because I liked the campus and coaching staff. Also I was close to OSU where I plan on transferring in 2 years.”

Courtney Fieldhouse - Center Midfield, Reynolds HS, Eastside Utd. Honors: All conference Mt Hood 6A. “Courtney brings vision, possession and the great ability to find the defense splitting pass” said Coach Ellis. Asked for comment Courtney remarked “I picked Lane because of the strong Physical Therapy program and I really liked Eugene on my visits.

Jordan Hevern - Forward, Crater HS, Rogue Valley Timbers. Honors: Honorable Mention All Conference Southern Oregon League 6A. Coach Ellis observed that “Jordan can impose her will on a game through shear desire and heart as well as use her left foot to provide great crosses to set up her teammates.”

Aubrie Hood - Forward, Marist HS, FC Willamette. Honors: First Team All League, Midwestern League. “Aubrie can score goals and we expect her to do well at our level. With pace and composure she should excel” commented Coach Ellis. On her choice of Lane Aubrie said, “I chose Lane because I saw it as a good opportunity to enhance my game and move to the next level.”

Kathryn Hoskoetter – Forward, Grants Pass HS, Rogue Valley Timbers. Honors: Oregon Olympic Development Program, All Conference Honorable Mention. Coach Ellis recalled “I first met Kathryn as her ODP coach in 2009, we always got on well and I always appreciated her ability to score goals and desire to compete at everything. She is exactly the kind of player I like to have on my squad.” Kathryn “came to Lane to play for Dave and loved that it’s close enough for my parents to watch me play.”

Kyleigh Jandro - Forward/Center Midfield, Gresham HS, Eastside Timbers. Honors: Oregon Olympic Development Program Regional Camp, Mt. Hood Conference 1st team forward 2010, Mt. Hood Conference Player of the year 2010, 6A All-State 2010, Mt. Hood Conference Second team forward 2011, Mt. Hood Conference 1st team forward 2012. “Kyleigh was a big signing for us, we were able to fight off strong competition for her signature. She is a dynamic player with the ability to score goals and create them for others” said Coach Ellis. Jandro remarked, “I chose Lane because I was really impressed with all the support that was offered to the students and because I’ve heard great things about the team and coaches.”

Montana Pindell – Midfield, Ashland HS, Rogue Valley Timbers. Honors: First Team All League, Varsity Capitan. Coach Ellis appreciates that “Montana plays with great composure; her ability to move the ball around the park with accurate passes will allow us to spread the opposition’s defense. She also is always looking to shoot from distance and has a great ability to shape the ball in to the net.” When asked about her choice she said “Lane is close to home and I was impressed with the coaching staff and great athletic facilities.”

Sophie Swanson – Forward, Sheldon HS, Eugene Metro FC. Honors: Second Team All League. “Sophie may play without flash or celebrations, but in my opinion she is an old school number 9; good out of the air and she possesses a great ability to hold up the ball and combine with her teammates. She makes others better with her simple but elegant play” said Coach Ellis. Swanson chose Lane “because of the strong academic and athletic program to help me achieve my goals in both.”

Vanessa Verboort – Center Midfield, South Salem HS, Lake Oswego SC. Honors: Second Team All League, Varsity Captain. Coach Ellis explained that “Vanessa is a complete Center Mid; linking her team together with passes while simultaneously directing the team to keep them in the correct shape throughout the game. She is a real general on the field and I was extremely impressed with her play and am thrilled she will be at Lane.” Vanessa explained she “decided to play at Lane because of the great atmosphere of the team, school, and coaches. I love the dedication of all the players and the coaches as well.”

Karlee Willcox – Forward, Lebanon HS. Honors: Second Team All League Mid-Willamette. Coach Ellis remarked, “Karlee has pace, is extremely strong in a tackle, and is always willing to work hard for her team. She is always looking to get forward and sacrifice her body for the team, Karlee will add toughness to our squad.” On her choice of Lane Karlee commented, “The coach had a great reputation and the athletic facilities are great!”
