Bigler, Zaid lead Lane men to title
Jacob Bigler and Usama Zaid combined for 67 points in leading Lane to a 104-91 men’s basketball victory over rival Clark in the championship game of the Lane Crossover tournament Saturday.
Bigler came off the bench to score 38 points, including nine three-pointers. He was 13 for 22 from the field and hit 9 for 17 from three-point range. Zaid finished with 29 points and nine rebounds.
Both players were selected to the all-tournament team, and Zaid was named MVP after amassing 87 points and 36 rebounds in three tournament games.
The Titans (9-1) have won five straight games.
Duce Namazi added 14 points for Lane, and Davonte Cleveland finished with seven rebounds and six assists. Bryan Berg scored 24 points to lead Clark (8-2).
Lower Columbia defeated Umpqua 75-60 in the third-place game and Peninsula downed Blue Mountain 80-77 to win the consolation final.
