Buzzer beater sinks Titans’ comeback
Lane women battle back from a 17-point deficit in the second half but still fall short
COOS BAY — Lane Community College dug itself out of a 17-point deficit in the second half but fell to Southwestern Oregon, 66-64, on a buzzer-beating jumper by Kelly Millager on Saturday in NWAACC women’s basketball.
The Titans were down 17 with 13 minutes remaining but came back with to tie with 10 seconds left on a three-pointer by MaKen-zie Ficek. The Lakers passed the ball downcourt to Millager, whose shot from 5 feet gave the Titans (4-1 NWAACC) their first league loss.
Ashley Smith had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Lane, and Kristen Huff added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
