Top-ranked Titans defeat Clackamas 67-65 to claim Pierce championship

TACOMA — Tournament MVP Kristen Huff scored 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Reid Levings hit 1-of-2 free throws with 4 seconds left to help Lane Community College hold off a Clackamas comeback in the top-ranked Titans’ 67-65 victory over the second-ranked Cougars in the championship game of the Pierce women’s basketball tournament on Sunday.

Ashley Smith added 14 points and nine rebounds for Lane (6-0), which held Clackamas to 23 percent shooting and just 22 points in the second half.

Susan Smith had six points, six rebounds and six assists for the Titans. Shayla Ball had 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead Clackamas.
