Cross, Harter carry Lane to second at NWAC meet

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — Ali Cross and Ben Harter led the Lane cross country teams to a pair of second-place finishes at the Northwest Athletic Conference Preview Meet on Saturday.

Cross was second in the women’s race in 18 minutes, 58 seconds for the Titans, who finished with 53 points behind Everett with 46. Nicole Maurmann was third for Lane in 19:04, and Katy Potter was eighth in 19:25.

Harter took second in the men’s race in 24:28. The Titans finished with 86 points, well behind winner Spokane with 22. David and Jonathan Cornish were 14th and 15th, respectively, for Lane, both in 25:15.
