Ex-Spartan shuts down Titans for NWAC sweep

GRESHAM — Marist High graduate Cameron Jack pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Mount Hood Community College to a 3-0 victory over Lane on Saturday for a sweep of their Northwest Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader.

Jack (3-2), a freshman, gave up a double and two singles over seven innings for the Saints (12-13, 4-2 NWAC South). He walked one and struck out one.

In the opener, Jay Becker scored the go-ahead run in the eighth on an error in a 5-4 win. Ben Giland and Cam Ross each had two hits for the Titans (14-8, 2-4).

The teams will play another doubleheader at Lane starting at 2 p.m. Sunday.
