Four Titans Earn NWAC Academic Excellence Award
Vancouver - Amanda Hisey, Anna Goodrie, Kylee O’Connor and Kelsie Loomis, all sophomores on the Lane Women’s Soccer team, earned the NWAC Academic Excellence Award, announced by the conference on Monday, Nov. 30.
Anna Goodrie, a sophomore from Thurston, Ore., has maintained a 3.7 GPA while pursuing her Associates of Applied Science degree at Lane. She is currently enrolled in the Exercise Movement Program, and will earn a Fitness Specialist certificate in addition to her associate degree. Goodrie was named to the NWAC All-Star team for the second straight year, after scoring 12 goals and earning five assists (29 points) to lead the Titan’s to their second-consecutive Southern Region Title.
Amanda Hisey, a sophomore from Medford, Ore., has maintained a 3.3 GPA while pursuing her Associates of General Science degree at Lane. Amanda started every game for the Titans this season, earning 11 points on four goals and three assists. She anchored a backline that earned 13 shutouts and gave up just 13 goals.
Kelsie Loomis, a sophomore from Eugene, Ore., boasts a 3.4 GPA at Lane while being a dual-sport athlete in soccer and track and field. Loomis had one goal and one assist, and was a part of the backline that gave up just 13 goals and earned 13 shutouts.
Kylee O’Connor, a sophomore from Eugene, Ore., boasts an impressive 3.9 GPA while being a dual-sport athlete at Lane (soccer and track and field). O’Connor is dual-enrolled at the University of Oregon and is in the Journalism Program. She was named to the NWAC All-Star team this season, after leading Lane to another Southern Region Title. She earned two goals and one assist from her outside back position.
To be nominated for this award, student-athletes must be sophomores in eligibility, earned more than 36 credit hours, and maintained at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
