Hallock breaks hurdle record in LCC sweep
Kara Hallock broke the school record in the 100-meter hurdles and was one of five double winners for the host Lane men and women at the NWAACC South Region track and field meet on Saturday.
Hallock won the hurdles in 14.16 seconds to break Katie Rowlett’s 1997 record of 14.40. Hallock also won the long jump as the Titan women easily won the six-team event with 277 points to 166 for runner-up Clackamas. Also with two individual firsts were Madison Seaman in the discus and shot put, and Allie Church in the 100 and 200.
The Lane men were even more dominant with 333 1/2 points to 182 1/2 for Clackamas in second. Double winners for the Titans were Sean McGetrick in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles, and Jemiel Lowery in the 100 and 200. Lane also swept both relays.
Next up are the NWAACC Championships in Spokane May 20-21.
