Hawks soar past Titans in semifinals
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Kellie Ross and Lacie French each scored 20 points to lead Columbia Basin to an 87-65 semifinal victory over Lane at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges tournament on Monday night.
The Hawks (23-7) will play Umpqua (24-6) at 5:30 p.m. for the NWAACC championship, after the Titans (24-7) will face Blue Mountain (21-9) for third place at 2 p.m.
After opening a 45-34 lead at the break, Columbia Basin shot 63 percent from the field in the second half to pull away. The Hawks also had a 56-42 edge in rebounds, with Lyndsay Oswalt grabbing 11.
Shelby Snook led three Lane players in double figures with 25 points. Heidi Walchi added 13 and Niki Duncan had 11, and Marikah Wright had a team-high 10 rebounds.
