Lakers surprise Lane Baseball

COOS BAY, OR - The Titans team faced a tough foe in double-header away games against Southwestern Oregon Community College on Tuesday.  In game one, despite outhitting the Lakers ten to six, Lane left ten runners on base in a tough 4-5 loss.  Nic Coffman (pictured) went 4-for-4 with 3 singles, a triple, and 1 RBI.  Brad Gregory pitched 7.2 innings in the win, with Kevin Harrison getting the save for SWOCC.  Parker Sherrell pitched 2 innings in the loss for the Titans.

Lane couldn't overcome SWOCC's 5-run third inning in game two which resulted in a 4-7 loss.  Four Titans got the six hits for the Titans with Nic Coffman going 2-for-2 getting two RBIs, and Elliot Sherrell going 2-for-4 with a triple and one RBI.  Coffman pitched 2 innings and allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs in the loss.  Kyle Davis got the win for the Lakers.  The two losses give Lane a 14-10 and 8-6 record.  Next up for the Titans is a home double-header against Clackamas (7-19, 4-10) on Saturday, 4/28 starting @ 1pm.  Lane beat Clackamas in a double-header earlier in the year with a total of 27-5 runs.
