Lane men and women second at NWAC cross country meet

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — The Lane Community College men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished second on Saturday at the Northwest Athletic Conference championship meet.

The Lane women scored 65 points to finish behind Spokane, which had all seven runners finish in the top 11, including winner Becca Mildes in 17:58.

Madison Schell (18:50) and Danielle Girard (18:56) finished 5-6, respectively for the Titans. Emily Viuhkola was 15th, Mitra LeBuhn was 17th and Kendall Maslen was 22nd.

The Lane men scored 81 points to finish behind Spokane, which had five scorers finish in the top 10, had 28 points.

The Titans were led by Emler Shelevy, who finished ninth in 25:37. Ronald Graham was 13th, Carlos Camacho was 16th, Ricardo Castillo was 18th and Johnathon Serna was 25th.

The men’s winner was James Breen of Clark College in 25:12.
