Lane men set for tiebreaker tonight

The Lane Community College men’s basketball team will play Chemeketa for the second time in three days when the two teams meet at 7 p.m. today in Salem to determine the NWAACC Southern Region’s fourth and final seed for the league playoffs.

In the regular-season finale Saturday night, Lane defeated Chemeketa 70-69 at home to forge a four-way tie for second place at 8-6. Based on tiebreakers, Mount Hood earned the No. 2 seed and Linn-Benton the No. 3.

The season ends for the loser of tonight’s tiebreaker.

Lane forward Kyle Warner was named Sunday to the first-team all-league after averaging 15.5 points and 6.1 rebounds this season. He also was named to the first-team defense.

Teammate Robby Allen, a power forward, was a honorable-mention selection after averaging 10.5 points and seven rebounds.
