Lane women capture Peninsula Crossover
PORT ANGELES, Wash. — The Lane women shook off a slow start and powered their way over Peninsula, 84-53, in the championship game of the Peninsula Crossover basketball tournament Saturday.
Shelby Snook led the way for the undefeated Titans (10-0), scoring 32 points and dishing out seven assists. Gabby Heehn added 16 points, Bre DuBois scored 12 and Jordan Kimbrough finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Lane trailed 24-16 after the first quarter but outscored the Pirates (9-4) by 39 points the rest of the way. The Titans were 10 for 29 from three-point range. Snook was named tournament MVP and Heehn also made the all-tournament team.
Cierra Moss led Peninsula with 17 points.
Centralia downed Big Bend 77-44 in the third-place game, and Spokane beat South Puget Sound 73-39 in the consolation final.
