The Lane women, a final four team last season, lost to a tough opponent for the second straight day on Sunday. The Titans fell 2-1 to defending NWAC champion Spokane. They lost to 2014 champion Peninsula on Saturday.

Katie Stitson scored in the 15th minute for the Titans off an assist from Mago Susu to give Lane an early lead, but Spokane answered with a goal in the 17th and another just before the half to take advantage.

“We were all about the competition and experience this weekend,” Lane coach Erica Jensen said. “We’re returning a lot of players, so we’ve set our expectations really high.

“I would much rather come and take these two quality losses than come out and beat people easily and not be challenged.”
