Lane Women Sweep Weekend To Win Titan Classic

Lady Titans battled with Spokane for four tough quarters but held the lead throughout all of the fourth quarter to win the Championship of the 2015 Titan Classic, 85-80.

Third year sophomore Shelby Snook scored 25 points, dished out 6 assists and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the Titans and secure MVP honors for the tournament after averaging 22 points per game for the weekend. Sophomore Jordan Kimbrough scored 26 points to lead theTitans in scoring on Sunday and was named to the All-Tournament team. Sophomore Sara Kesling also earned All-Tournament honors for the Titans.

Lane opened the weekend Friday night by drubbing Pierce College 110-49. Five Titans were in double figures including Snook with 20, freshman Jordan Rodriquez with 19, sophomore Bre DuBois 13, Kesling and freshman Mallory Shields with 12 each.

The Titans made it to the championship game with a 103-62 win over Linn-Benton CC. Six Titans this time got to double figures led again by Snook's 22, third year sophomore Gabby Heehn 21 (including 7 three pointers), Kesling with 14, Rodriguez' 13 points, freshman Kalani Kast's 11 points and Kimbrough's 10.

The Titans averaged 99.3 points per game for the weekend in securing their second straight Titan Classic title.

The Lane women are idle until December 2nd when they travel to Newberg, Oregon to face the George Fox University JV's in a non-
league tilt.
