Tori Mahaffie rises from beyond the arc
for three of her team-high 19 points.

Lane 83 - Chemeketa 58 [stats]

Two minutes into the semi-final match up between the Southern Region foes, the magic ran out for Chemeketa, who lost guard Jordan Klebaum to a reaggravation of an injured knee and left with the help of trainers. The Storm kept things close for a few minutes, but eventually fell behind by 21 in the first half and 28 in the second, falling by 25 to see Lane glide into the 2013 championship game.

For a time, it seemed that Chemeketa might survive without their scoring leader, as the Storm took a four point lead on a fast break bucket from Hannah Fredrick after three and a half minutes of play. That would change quickly for Chemeketa, who watched Lane go on an 11-2 run to take a lead that they would never give back.

Lane went on another streak, this time 12-1 and found themselves up 21 points at 47-26 with a minute remaining in the period. The Titans held a 47-31 edge at the break.

What was bad for Chemeketa in the first half only continued to get worse in the second as Lane went on a 9-0 run early in the period to lead by 28 points with 14 minutes and change remaining in the game. Six minutes later, Kim Tillery cut the deficit to 18 points on a steal and fast break layup, but Chemeketa would get no closer, falling by 25 points to drop into the third place bracket.

Lane advances to take on the winner of the Clackamas - Skagit Valley game on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. to decide the 2013 NWAACC Champion.
