Rodriguez leads Lane over Umpqua
BELLEVUE, Wash. — Guard Jordan Rodriguez scored 20 points as the Lane women’s basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Umpqua 78-69 in the championship game of the Bellevue Bulldog Classic on Sunday.
Rodriguez, the tournament MVP, added six rebounds and six assists, and Sarah Hall and Sierra Carrier (North Eugene High gradiate) each had 16 points. Hall (Sheldon), who added eight rebounds and six assists, was named to the all-tournament team.
Lane (6-0) trailed 57-52 entering the fourth quarter but outscored the Riverhawks 26-12. The Titans took advantage of 18 Umpqua turnovers for 22 points and were 18 of 26 (69 percent) from the line.
The Riverhawks (5-1) were just 4 of 23 from three-point range and 7 of 12 at the line. Jordan Stotler led Umpqua with 17 points.
