Slow start costly for Lane in championship-game loss

EVERETT, Wash. — Alex Sattley scored 17 points but was just 1-for-11 on three-pointers and Lane fell 87-59 to Clark College in the championship game of the Everett Crossover men’s basketball tournament on Sunday.

Satley was named to the all-tournament team, along with teammate Zach Kirschbaum.

The Titans (7-4) shot 26.7 percent from the field to fall into a 44-20 halftime deficit and were unable to recover. Meanwhile, the Penguins (7-1) made eight three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes and 13 in the game to secure their fifth straight victory.

Dyrall Goods score 10 points, and Daniel Versteeg and Kirschbaum added eight points each for Lane. Sattley pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds in the loss.

Sean Price led four Clark players in double figures with 17 points to go along with nine rebounds and five assists.
