Storm and Titans both win tight games
SALEM, OR - Lane Baseball had a close 3-2 victory against Chemeketa in game 1 of the double-header on Saturday afternoon. Despite pitching the entire game for the Storm, Ryan Smith got the loss giving up only 3 hits. Dawson Phinney pitched the win for the Titans, with Zach Kayser getting the save. Cody Chagnon had a big day at the plate getting 2 RBIs.
Only one run separated the teams in Game 2 with Chemeketa edging Lane 2-1. Colben McGuire was on the mound in the loss for the TItans, with BJ Wilson getting the win and Ryan Thompson getting the save for the Storm. Nic Coffman (pictured) went 2-for-3 with a double and the lone RBI for Lane, while Cody Chagnon also going went 2-for-3 and getting a double. Lane is now 2 games over .500 in their Division, and 5 games out of first behind Mt. Hood and Chemeketa. Their next scheduled double-header is @ Mt. Hood (25-7, 15-3) on Tuesday, 5/8 at 1pm. The Titans are 0-4 against the Saints this season.
