Titan baseball earns split with Clackamas

OREGON CITY — Joe Offer’s two-run double sparked Lane’s three-run rally in the third and the Titans went on to a 5-3 baseball victory over Clackamas on Saturday for a split of their doubleheader.

Jordyn van Atta was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Matt Myrmo went 2-for-2 and scored a run for Lane (10-10-1), which is second to Mount Hood in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges’ South Region at 5-3. Thurston High grad Dawson Phinney struck out four in 4 1/3 innings to earn the victory.

The Cougars scored three unearned runs with the help of two Titan errors in the eighth inning for a 9-6 win in the first game. Jimmy Sanchez was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs for Lane, and Skip Spencer had two RBI.
