Titan Baseball wins 2 more in Conference play

EUGENE, OR - The weather cooperated once again on Saturday, and Lane was able to get in their home opener against SWOCC in a double-header.  The Titans won the first game 4-1 with a big 3-run fifth inning.  Tyler Johnson pitched 5 innings to get the win for the Titans, with Zach Kayser getting the save.  Elliott Sherrell had a big day at the plate going 2-for-4, with a double and 1 RBI.  Other key at bats came from Alex Cornwell (pictured) who went 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs and Cody Chagnon who went 2-for-3.

 

The second game had a little more excitement to it as the Titans and Lakers were tied 1-1 in the seventh before Alex Cornwell (pictured) broke the tie with a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh scoring Daniel Katayama for a 2-1 victory.  Zach Kayser pitched in his second game of the day and got the win for the TItans.  Brad Gregory got the loss for SWOCC.  The two wins puts the Titans at 10-4 on the season and atop the Southern Region at 4-0.  Their next scheduled game is a double-header @ Clackamas (4-12, 1-3) on Tuesday, 4/10 @ 1pm.
