Titan runners open season

The Lane Community College men's and women's cross country teams open the 2008 season today at Willamette University in Salem.

Grady O'Connor enters his 11th season as the director of the Titan cross country program. Travis Floeck has been hired as the head cross country coach, and ex-Duck Emily Mathis begins her first season as assistant coach.

The top returning LCC runners include Sheldon's Katherine Barnhart and Amy Nelson, Siuslaw's Sierra Lee and Leah Twombly, Newport's Annie Hayward, McKenzie's David Sherman, Thurston's Lukas Fenley and Joe Churchill of Auburn, Wash.
