Titans claim three wins on first day of Lane Preview

Lane Community College’s Madison Seaman, Hanna Person and William Kunkle each captured victories during the throws competition at the Lane Preview track and field meet Friday.

Seaman won the women’s discus with a toss of 130 feet, 1 inch, nearly 13 feet better than her closest competitor. She also took fourth in the shot put (39-7 3/4) and 11th in the hammer throw (105-4). Person dominated the women’s hammer throw with a 145-8, also about 13 feet better than the rest of the field, and placed sixth in the discus (108-2). Leah Wilson also finished with two third-places (hammer, 131-5, and shot put, 40-6 3/4) and a fourth (discus, 110-7).

On the men’s side, Kunkle captured the discus with a 154-7 and placed eighth in the hammer (133-7).

The jumping and running events of the two-day meet begins today at 10:45 a.m.
