Titans miss target in loss to Lakers

Southwestern Oregon took advantage of poor shooting by Lane to defeat the Titans 59-56 in a Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball game on Wednesday.

Four Laker players scored in double figures, led by Yvonne Daniels with 13 points. Aminata Cole also scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for SWOCC.

Lane was led by Jordan Kimbrough with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Carmen Wright added 11 points and 11 rebounds and Maddie Kiplinger finished with 10 points.

The Titans outrebounded the Lakers 50-32, but were hampered by 26.6 percent shooting from the field, including 17.6 percent from the three-point line.

Lane (16-5 overall, 3-2 league) next plays at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chemeketa.
