Titans Sail Past Lakers
Lane Lady Titans faced their most serious offensive threat Wednesday night in the Titan Gym but proved to be up to the task by outscoring the Southwestern Oregon Lakers 106-78. The Lakers came into to game as the third highest scoring team in the NWAACC at 78 points per game, but the Titans held them to 33 first half points then put up 61 second half points to land the 28 point victory.
For the first time this season, seven Titans scored in double figures led by Nicole Hannifan's (Milwaukee, OR.) double-double of 15 pts and 10 rebounds. Jordan Wilcox (Prineville, OR.) came off the bench to 15 pts on 3-for-6 shooting from the three point line. Megan Shields (Sherwood, OR.) had 13 pts and 7 rebounds, Kersey Wilcox (Prineville, OR.) was next with 12 pts and team highs of 5 steals and 4 assists. Rounding out the double figure scores were Simone Thompson (Gardena, CA.), Danielle Schmidt (Hillsboro, OR.) and Tori Mahaffie (Eugene, OR.) all had 10 pts in the win.
Hailey Laird, SWOCC guard led all scorers with 18 pts, while Quynne Eharis had 15 pts and 11 rebounds in the loss.
Lane (18-0, 4-0 South Region) faces it's toughest league test of the campaign this Saturday as they visit the Clackamas CC Cougars (14-3, 4-0 South Region) at 2:00pm. The Titans defeated the Cougars 72-68 earlier this season in the Championship game of the Pierce Holiday Classic.
