Titans shine at own preview track meet

Kristine Dunn and Macauley Wilson finished 1-2 in the women’s 400 meters and Jonathan Cornish won the men’s 3,000 to highlight Lane Community College’s track and field performances at their own meet on Saturday.

Dunn was first in 58.39 seconds with Wilson close behind in 59.10.Cornish won in 8:48.19. Kara Hallock also shared first place in the high jump at 5 feet, 3 inches with Mackenzie Folkerts, who was competing unattached.

Two other Titan women competing unattached also won their events. Kristin Clark took the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet, 11 inches and Jalen Tims won the 400 hurdles (1:05.28).

Former Churchill High standout Rochelle Pappel, competing for Western Oregon, won the 100 hurdles (15.07) and was second in the 100 (12.91).

For the Lane men, Dakarai Hightower, competing unattached, won the high jump (7-1/2). Both 4x400 relays for the Titans also placed first.
