Titans split pair of baseball games against Penguins
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Trevor Casanova hit a two-run home run, and Connor Mattison allowed two hits over six innings to lead Lane to an 8-1 victory against Clark in the first game of an NWAC baseball doubleheader Saturday.
In the second game, Javier Villanueva outdueled Lane starter Shane Quarterley to lead the Penguins to a 1-0 win.
In the opener, Lane strung together eight hits but took advantage of three errors by the Penguins to pull away. Kyle Watson and Kyle Beam had two hits apiece for the Titans.
Quarterley allowed three hits for the Titans in the second game, but one of them was a solo home run by Colton Krueger in the fifth inning, which was all Clark needed to win. Quarterley struck out two and walked one.
