Titans split with Treasure Valley

Treasure Valley scored three runs in the top of the ninth to beat Lane 6-3 in the second game of a nonconference baseball doubleheader Friday at Titan Field.

After cruising to a 9-2 victory in the opener, the Titans (7-4) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the nightcap. The score was tied at 3-3 after the eight inning, and the Chukars took control in the final frame.

Darin Nelson was 4-for-4 with an RBI and one run to lead Lane.

The Titans pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of five Treasure Valley errors to win Friday’s opener 9-2.

Colby Rice went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and scored two runs for Lane.

Jeff Hardy (2-1) earned the victory after giving up two runs on six hits and striking out seven in six innings.
