Titans take one from Centralia at home
The Lane baseball team finished off a wild split with Centralia on Friday, winning the first game 12-0 behind a no-hitter from pitchers Jackson Bertsch and Parker Figueroa then losing the second 1-0 after Blazers pitcher Austin Anderson one-hit the Titans.
Lane’s 12-0 victory went the run-rule minimum of five innings after the Titans exploded for five runs in both the second and fourth innings. Trevor Casanova was 3-for-3 for Lane with six RBIs, two runs scored and a home run.
Kyle Watson was also 3-for-3 for Lane in the first game with three RBIs, a double and a run scored.
Bertsch pitched four innings and struck out six with no walks. Figueroa pitched the final inning and walked two.
Centralia also reached base once on an error.
In the second game, Malik Evans took the loss for the Titans despite allowing one run on five hits in a complete-game effort. Centralia scored once in the top of the sixth on a home run from Colton Hinricksen.
Lane plays at Centralia today in the final game of the series.
