Wright scores 17 as Lane advances at NWAC tourney

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Marikah Wright had 17 points to lead Lane Community College to a 68-61 win against Skagit Valley in a first-round game at the Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament on Saturday at the Toyota Center.

Jenika Anglim led the Cardinals with 19 points and made five of her team’s 11 three-pointers.

Bre Dubois and Maddie Kiplinger also scored 13 each for the Titans, who broke the game open with a 20-1 run in the first half.

Next up for Lane is a quarterfinal game against Blue Mountain at 2 p.m. today.

The Timberwolves defeated Lower Columbia on Saturday, 85-82.
