Another sweep pushes LCC streak to nine in row
Paul Turner drove in three runs and David Bellamy and Cam Russ had two RBIs each in Lane’s 11-4 opening victory over Southwestern Oregon as the Titans swept another Northwest Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Sunday to run their winning streak to nine games.
Austin Crowson (5-1) went six innings and struck out six in the win. Turner, Bellamy, Ben Giland and Bryce Tilton each had two of Lane’s 11 hits.
In the second game at Titan Field, Giland, Tilton and Logan Roberts each drove in a run as Lane held on for a 3-2 victory. Cooper Webster (3-2) went the first five innings for the win, and Drew Smermes and Roberts, who picked up his sixth save, each pitched an inning in relief.
The Titans (23-9, 11-5) are tied for second in the NWAC South Region, one-half game behind Mount Hood, with eight games left in the regular season.
