Baseball To Open At PK Park
Lane Community College Titans vs. George Fox Bruins, DH Noon and 3:30 p.m.
The time is finally here for the Titans baseball team to take the field for their home opener; unfortunately the weather is not quite ready. Lane’s true grass field could not withstand the rainstorms so the Titans will play their home opener down the road at the University of Oregon’s PK Park. Lane will play a doubleheader against George Fox’s junior varsity program this Sunday, March 6th. Fans are encouraged to come support the Titans free of charge and enjoy a great day of baseball. The Titans appreciate the University of Oregon’s continued support to the program and look forward to playing at one of the finest facilities in college baseball.
This state of the art facility plays home to the Duck’s baseball team after the resurgence of the team after a 28-year hiatus. Designed by sport architect DLR Group, PK Park has 3,200 fixed seats in the main seating bowl and total capacity of 4,000. Fan amenities include a state of the art video board, landscaped areas for hospitality, a tiered party plaza called "Fowl Territory," a picnic plaza, and eight upper level suites. The park is also home to the professional Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League, a Class A short-season minor league. The field itself is nearly all turf with the exception of the pitcher’s mound and home plate area, allowing play in tough weather conditions.
