Basketball Players of the Week - Dec 17

VANCOUVER, Wa. - The Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges has named its Basketball Players of the Week for December 16, 2013. 


Marikah Wright, Lane
Freshman Guard-Forward

Lane Community College freshman guard/forward Marikah Wright is the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges’ Player of the Week. Wright was named the Most Valuable Player at the Pierce Invitational leading Lane to wins over Peninsula, Wenatchee Valley, and previously unbeaten Clackamas.

Wright completed the Pierce Invitational with 48 points and 24 rebounds over the course of three games. She had her best performance in the championship match, finishing with 23 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and one block in 3rd-ranked Lane’s overtime win over 2nd-ranked Clackamas.

The Bellevue, Washington native shot 58% from the field during the three-game invitational. Wright's 8.3 rebounds per game average currently ranks 19th in the the league.
