Beaver Classic Recap

The lone Titan, Cesar Perez (SO), traveled up to Corvallis, OR for the Beaver Classic hosted by Oregon State University at Avery Park this past weekend. There were several 4-year schools in attendance, including the University of Oregon.  The course was a muddy 2k loop, which partnered with some muggy temperatures, created some slower times than last year's race

Perez was Lane's only representative as the rest of the team had the weekend off in preparation for the Southern Region Championships at Clackamas on 10/29.  He was the first Community College runner finishing 49th overall.  Coach John Scholl said, "I wanted to give Cesar a challenge before we head to Regionals to test his mental and physical abilities.  This wasn't his best race, but it didn't have to be.  He seem to put a lot of pressure on himself over the past few days, and I think the speed of the first 2k really took it out of alot of guys.  I have full confidence in him (and the rest of our runners) that we'll be running well when it counts.  Our workouts have been going very well, so I'm not worried at all."
Both teams head to Clackamas CC in Oregon City to compete in the Southern Region Championships on 10/29.
