Hallock, Applegate, Nash get winning marks for Lane
CHICO, Calif. — Lane’s Kara Hallock won the women’s 100-meter hurdles, was third in the long jump and finished fifth in the 400 hurdles at the Chico Twilight and Distance Carnival track and field meet late Saturday night.
Hallock won the 100 hurdles in 15.00 seconds, and teammates Shaneesa Applegate (15.44) and Rochelle Pappel (15.64) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Hallock also finished the 400 hurdles in 1:07.46.
Applegate won the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 1 1/2 inches, and Hallock tied for third at 18-1
Elsewhere, Lane’s Kayla Vasquez and Anna Jensen finsihed tied for third in the pole vault, clearing 11-3 3/4 and Leah Wilson finished second in the shot put with a toss of 44-1/2.
In the men’s half of the meet, Lane’s Brandon Nash won the high jump, clearing 6 feet, 9 3/4 inches, and the Titans’ 4x400 relay team of Joe Hennricks, Codey Fields, Ian McNaughton and Austin Baker finished in second place in 3:20.62 in a race that saw the top three teams separated by less than a second.
Lane’s Zach Olivera finished tied for third in the pole vault, clearing 15-0.
