Kimbrough leads Lane to tourney title
LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Jordan Kimbrough scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in leading the Lane women’s basketball team to a 77-68 victory over Peninsula during the championship game of the Pierce Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
Kimbrough went 8-for-12 from the floor and 7-for-8 at the free-throw line on the way to earning tournament MVP honors. The Titans (8-1) also got 21 points from Jacia Jointer, who was named to the all-tournament team.
Lane saw its 13-point halftime lead slip away early in the second half, but the Titans put the game away at the free-throw line, making 15-of-20 shots in the second half and 21-of-28 overall.
