Lane baseball falls in NWAC tournament opener
LONGVIEW, Wash. — Everett College jumped on the Lane baseball team for two runs in the first, handing the Titans a 3-2 loss in the opener of the Northwest Athletic Conference Championship tournament on Thursday.
First baseman Tony Ortiz went 2-for-4, including a solo home run, and Bryce Mulcahy drove in the Titans’ other run.
Everett was led by Bryce Steckler, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Everett got to Lane starter Boone Casarez, who took the loss, for three earned runs over five innings.
