Lane men record eight firsts at Linfield meet
McMINNVILLE — Sean McGertick swept the hurdles events to lead the Lane Community College men to eight firsts at the Jenn Boyman Invitational track meet at Linfield College on Saturday.
McGertick won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.31 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 56.13. Justin Browne almost pulled off another double by winning the 100 in 11.30 and placing second in the long jump at 21 feet, 10 3/4 inches.
Other winners for the Titans were Austin Baker in the 400 (49.83), Zach Olivera in the pole vault (14-11), William Kunkle in the discus (141-6), Brandon Nash in the high jump (6-6) and Caleb Patrick in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:02.00).
Winners for the Lane women were Macauly Wilson in the 800 (2:21.92), Kara Hallock in the long jump (16-10 1/2) and Madison Seaman in the discus (137-5). The Titans also placed second in five events, led by Leah Wilson in the hammer (138-6) and shot put (39-11 1/2). Joining her were Jahzelle Ambus in the 200 (26.20), Kayla Vasquez in the pole vault (10-11 3/4), Shaneesa Applegate in the triple jump (34-5 1/2) and Tiffany Olsen in the steeplechase (15:35.92).
