Lane Titan's Bruce Chavka To Coach Team USA
Former Oregon Ducks guard Johnathan Loyd will play basketball tournament in China

This time last year, Johnathan Loyd was gearing up for his first football season since high school.
Now, he traveling overseas to return to his roots.
The former Oregon basketball and football player is part of the Netscouts USA Men's All-Star basketball team that is headed for China to participate in the Four Nationals international basketball tournament.
Loyd, who last suited up for the Ducks' basketball squad in 2014, is part of the US team that will play in the round-robin tournament against the national teams of China, Denmark and Slovenia.
Loyd finished up his four-year Oregon basketball career by averaging 7.0 points and 4.7 assists during his senior season. He was the 2013 Pac-12 Tournament MVP and played a pivotal role in Oregon's march to the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
He was also a part of Oregon's Rose Bowl-winning football squad this past season. A multi-sport athlete at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Loyd joined the football team last fall and occasionally saw time as a kick returner. He caught one touchdown pass against Wyoming.
The US team is coached by Bruce Chavka from Lane Community College and Portland State's Kyle Coston is also part of the team.
The tournament begins on Sunday.

The team will be coached by Bruce Chavka of Lane (OR) Community College and assisted by NetScouts Basketball's Carl Berman.
