Lane women advance to NWAC semifinals
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Maddie Kiplinger had 20 points and eight rebounds in leading Lane to an 84-65 victory over Blue Mountain during the quarterfinals of the Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament on Sunday.
Lane (24-7) has won six consecutive games and will face Southwestern Oregon at 6 p.m. today in the semifinals. The Titans have reached the tournament semifinals 10 times in 14 years, having won four NWAC titles during that stretch, the last coming in 2013.
Kiplinger was one of five Titans to score in double figures Sunday afternoon. Jacia Jointer scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds, and Bre DuBois finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds, five blocks and four assists.
Eric Cogburn and Marikah Wright chipped in 10 points apiece for Lane, which shot better than 53 percent from the field and outrebounded the Timberwolves 47-29.
