A hot-handed Alex MacNeil scored 25 points and Lane Community College pulled away from Grays Harbor College in the second half for an 85-73 victory over the visiting Chokers on Tuesday.
MacNeil fired 80 percent from the field, including 5-for-6 from three-point range. The sophomore guard also hit six of his seven free-throw attempts.
Sophomore guard Tyler Coleman added 17 points and sophomore guard/forward Santiago Silva also was in double figures with 11 points for the Titans, who improved to 8-2 overall. Sophomore forward Levi Strandberg pulled down seven rebounds for Lane, and sophomore guard/forward Jeff Fields added six rebounds and four assists.
Grays Harbor, of Aberdeen, Wash., was paced by Riley Alvord with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Teammate Nolan Wyatt added 13 points and Barry smith scored in double figures with 10 points. The Chokers fell to 2-5.
Next for the Titans will be the three-day NWAACC Crossover Tournament beginning Friday at Auburn, Wash.
