NW Classic Recap
The Titans competed on their home course this weekend in the 18th Northwest Cross Country Classic. The temp climbed up to the high 80s for both races again, which effected the times somewhat. The men kicked off the races with a 4-miler and had a runner-up finish from Michael Maisonville (FR) just twelve seconds off the leader; while Joe Campbell (FR) just missed a top-10 finish by six seconds. The men finished second in the team race with their top-7 men finishing in the top-25; Daniel Silvey (14), Kyle Ruhlin (17), Tyler Zyph (20), Weston Petewon (22), and Dane Steeves (25). The women had two ladies finish in the top-6. Gylany Crossman (SO) was the first Titan finishing 3rd, while Rachel Jensen (SO) finished 6th. "This was a hard week of training" said Coach John Scholl. "I told the team if they didn't feel flat or tired today, they didn't work hard enough earlier in the week. We're in the phase of training where we're focusing on getting ready for our key meets at the end of the season. We'll continue to build on the performances we've had up to this point, and I have confidence we'll be ready when it counts."
