Oregon State Adds Transfer
CORVALLIS — The Oregon State women’s track and field program announced the addition of two junior college transfers on Tuesday with the signing of thrower Rachel Picknell and sprinter Allie Church for the 2014 season.
Picknell, a former standout at Roseburg High School, competed in the shot put, discus and hammer throw at Sacramento City College last season. She posted personal bests of 44 feet, 1/2 inch in the shot put, 142-11 in the discus and 144-9 in the hammer.
Church, who won Class 5A state titles in the 100 and 200 as a senior at Wilsonville High School, spent the past two seasons at Lane Community College. She is the reigning NWAACC champion in the 100 and 200, and anchored the Titans’ winning 4x100 relay at the NWAACC meet.
