Potter, Cornish lead Titans

BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — Freshman Katy Potter placed second for the Lane women and freshman Jonathan Cornish finiished third for the Titan men at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges cross country championships on Saturday.

Spokane, behind winner Jessica Mildes in 17 minutes, 51 seconds, won the women’s title with 39 points, followed by Everett with 43 and Lane with 72. Potter ran 18:34 for second, and Nicole Maurmann finished 10th in 19:40 for the Titans.

For the Lane men, Cornish was just three seconds behind winner Daniel Schofield of Spokane in 24:23 as the Titans were nipped for the team title, 50-52, by Everett. Eduardo Juarez was fifth in 24:39 for LCC, and David Cornish was eighth in 24:57.
