Roadrunners and Titans split double-header
EUGENE, OR - Lane and Linn-Benton Baseball were originally scheduled to play in Albany, but weather moved them to Lane's field. In game one, 4 errors did the Titans in for a 5-1 loss. Cody McDonald was the only Titan to get across the plate with a single from Alex Cornwell in the bottom of the seventh. Zach Eyster pitched 5 innings and allowed 6 hits and 2 earned runs in the loss for the Titans. Michael Bradshaw pitched all nine innings allowing seven hits and one earned run for Linn-Benton.
Lane put up eleven hits in game 2 for a 4-0 victory. Spencer Smith, Elliot Sherrell, and Shaun Boehm each went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI a piece, while Daniel Katayama also went 2-for-3. Zach Kayser (pictured) pitched 5 2/3 innings of the six inning game with six strikeouts and 3 base-on-balls. With the split decision the Titans are now 17-13, 11-9 putting them 4 games out of first place. The next double-header is scheduled for Saturday, 5/5 @ 1pm against Chemeketa (16-17, 12-7). Lane and Chemeketa split games in their last meeting.
