Shields Leads Titans to Everett Tourney Win

Sophomore Megan Shields recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds plus 3 blocks to lead the Lane Women's basketball team to it's first win of the season at the Everett CC Tournament, a 70-57 victory over Columbia Basin College. The Titan's used freshman Simone Thompson's 11 first half points to open up a 14 point halftime lead and cruised to it's first win of the season. Thompson's 19 points led the Titans in scoring, freshman Nicole Hannifan added 11 points in the victory. Freshman Renee Lucero and Tori Mahaffie pulled down 8 rebounds each to go along with 5 and 6 points respectively. Sophomore Courtney Walchli also added 7 rebounds and 5 points in the win.


The Titans return to action in the semi-final Saturday night at 6pm against the Bellevue College Bulldogs at Everett Community College (WA.). The Titans will end action on Sunday at either 2pm or 4pm. The Titans first home game of the season will be played November 29th versus Clark College at 6pm in the Titan Gym.
