Shelby Snook, Lane's all-time leading scorer and assist-maker has signed a Letter of Intent to play basketball next season at Western Oregon University.

Snook, a 5-foot-9 point guard, averaged 18.1 points and 7.9 assists per game last season at Lane Community College. She was named NWAC Tournament MVP after leading the Titans to the league championship and earned All-Southern Region First Team honors.

"Shelby will go down as the greatest player to ever wear a Titan uniform," Lane CC head coach Greg Shelley said. "But more importantly, Shelby is a great person. She will be truly missed."

For her career at Lane, Snook scored 1,232 points, dished out 419 assists and had 382 rebounds. She shot 49 percent from the field, 32 percent from behind the 3-point line and 70 percent from the foul line. Snook holds multiple career records after two seasons as a Titan: scoring, assists, field-goals made (439) and free throws made (294). She scored 30 or more points nine times in her Lane career, scoring 44 points as a single-game high, and had 10 or more assists in 16 games.

In the classroom, Snook carries a 3.6 grade-point average on the academic vice president list and was awarded NWAC academic excellence.

Western Oregon's head coach Howard-Carpenter on Snook: "Shelby is an incredible point guard that can distribute and score. She has the ability to hit a teammate in transition with an eighty foot pass or break down her defender and finish at the rim. Talent aside, her work ethic and desire to get better are what set her apart from other players. Shelby is a difference maker and an important piece to the future success of our program. I am extremely grateful she chose to continue her career at WOU and I am excited to see her grow as a player."

The coaching staff and Lane Community College athletics wish Shelby well in her career at Western Oregon and thank her for her contributions to the Lane Women's Basketball Program!
