Snook, Titans prevail
Shelby Snook broke the Lane school record with 44 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Titans to a 94-93 victory over Umpqua in an NWAACC Southern Region women’s basketball game on Wednesday.
Snook, who is from Roseburg, shot 16-of-25 from the field and was 12-of-17 from the line to break the school record of 42 points, set by Dominique King in 2003.
Marikah Wright was the only other Lane player in double figures, with 15 points. The Titans (14-4, 1-1 Southern Region) fought off a potential game-winning shot from the Riverhawks at the buzzer.
Ashli Payne led Umpqua with 38 points and 13 rebounds, and Kyndal Charleston added 21 points. Romanalyn Incencio had 15 points for Umpqua (10-5, 1-1).
