Titan men take NWAACC South title

OREGON CITY — Lane placed five finishers in the top 10 to edge Clackamas for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges Southern Region men’s cross country championship on Saturday.
Cesar Perez finished second in 26 minutes, 15.06 seconds over the 8,000-meter course to lead the Titans to the title with 32 points. Clackamas, which was led by winner Jorge Gil-Juarez in 26:05.37, took second with 35 points, and Clark was third with 58.
On the women’s side, Lane’s Gylany Crossman was the winner in 18:08.17 over 5,000 meters, and teammate Rachel Jensen was fifth in 19:00.01. They were the Titans’ only two runners, as Clark scored 23 points with five finishers in the top eight to take the team title.
Joining Perez in the top for the Lane men were Daniel Silvey in fifth place (26:27.23), Ryan Perry in seventh (26:40.83), Kyle Ruhlin in eighth (26:42.07) and Joe Campbell in 10th (26:58.02).
Clackamas had three of the top four finishers, but the Cougars’ last two scorers placed behind the Titans in 13th and 14th.
