Titans can't stop Saints
GRESHAM, OR - Lane Baseball came up short in both games on Tuesday against Mt. Hood. In game one, seven errors and 11 men left-on-base led to a 9-7 loss. The Titans had 12 hits, four of which were doubles. Cody Chagnon (pictured) went 2-for-3, Daniel Katayama went 3-for-5, and Elliot Sherrell went 3-for-5 each getting 1 RBI. Zev Egli, Brian Capps, Kendell Motes, and Christian Bannister pitched for the Saints with Motes getting the win and Bannister getting the save. Zach Eyster pitched 3 2/3 inning in the loss for the Titans.
Although Lane got seven hits and had no errors in game two, they still fell short in a 7-3 loss. Nick Coffman went 2-for-3 and had a base clearing double to tie the game in the top of the fifth. Mt. Hood responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth to secure the win. Riley Barr pitched all seven innings for the Saints with eight strikeouts in the win. Zach Kayser pitched 4 1/3 inning allowing eight hits and six earned runs in the loss for the Titans. The two losses put Lane at .500 in the league at 12-12. They will face SWOCC (10-23, 5-19) in a home double-header starting @ 1pm on Saturday, 5/12. Lane won its two home games and lost its two away games against SWOCC earlier this season.
